Biography
I come to UCANR with experience as an agricultural science teacher at all levels of K-12 and some adult education. 4-H and FFA formed a foundation for my success, facilitating my earning the American FFA Degree right out of high school and making me the confident and driven advocate that I am today. I am a CSU Fresno and Cal Poly SLO alumni!
I am a Central Coast native, from Santa Maria and now living in Atascadero on small acreage with a prosperous garden, laying hens, a menagerie of small animals and my loyal service dog who accompanies
me wherever I go on my regular adventures!
My service dog is a 3.5 year old female chocolate Labrador named “Journeyman’s Place By The Rising Sun, Madame President” (“Prezi” for short) as a nod to my extensive experience within the FFA both as a member and advisor. She is trained in medical alert/response, minor guide work, item retrieval and many other useful skills that help me to function well on a day to day basis. Though Prezi loves to say hi and get attention from everyone, she is working whenever her vest is on so please do not be offended if she ignores your greetings.
We look forward to working with you all!
Sincerely,
Kelsey Dugan
