Ask a Master Food Preserver

Do you ever ask yourself questions like, does this jam look normal?  Do I need to sterilize my canning jars? Where can I find a tested and safe recipe? Ask your local Master Food Preserver any food safety and preservation question by:

  • Calling the MFP helpline (805) 781-1429, Wednesdays from 1-3pm to speak to an MFP or bring in your home product

Please allow up to one week for a response; however, we will try our very best to answer your question as soon as possible. Depending on your question, we may need to contact you by phone to further discuss your question, so please provide us your phone number in the email or survey. 

We also have a Presto® Testing Unit designed exclusively for testing Presto® Pressure Dial Gauges on their pressure canners.  Please contact the helpline for more information.
