UCCE Temperature Profile Study

Project description

The UC Cooperative Extension is conducting detailed assessments of air temperature profiles at seven locations in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara County in 2013. The temperature can differ markedly over very short differences in height above the ground throughout the day and night. Improved knowledge of these conditions can help growers determine the optimum vine training height for their region, and help avoid damage from early season frosts or mid-summer heat spells.
